The Transfer Student Center is excited to be a partner with you on your LSA journey. The U-M campus might be large but it is yours. You belong here. Our goal is to help you achieve your goals, in any way that we can. Have questions about transfer credit? Mentorship? Study Abroad? Off-campus opportunities? Student organizations? Research? Anything? We can help. Just ask.

In addiiton to these programs and opportunities, the Transfer Student Center offers a number of ways for you to connect to the transfer student community.
Visit the Transfer Center
Now that you are fully enrolled, it’s time to explore all that LSA has to offer. The Transfer Student Center provides a home on campus for transfer students. We are currently open from noon-5:00pm Monday through Friday. When the semester starts we will be open 8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday.
The center offers a space to hang out, study, and get answers to your questions from full-time professional staff and Transfer Student Ambassadors. The center is also home to everything offered by the Newnan Advising Center’s Transfer Student Program to help you connect to the university community and provide you with the tools and resources you need to achieve your goals at Michigan and beyond. The Transfer Student Program offers opportunities to meet with groups and resources from around campus such as OptiMize, the Opportunity Hub, the university libraries, study abroad, and a lot more.
You’ll also have access to a refrigerator and microwave for all of your culinary adventures. (Even if that means frozen burritos. We don’t judge.)
Join a Transfer Community Group
Are you looking for ways to connect with students on campus? Want to find a support group of students similar to yourself, whether that is based on your academic interests or your background and identity? Join a Transfer Community Group. Each Transfer Community group will connect you with other students. Some of them will offer scheduled programming while others are more informal.
Non and Post Traditional Student Community Group
Are you a student who does not fit the mold of a traditional University of Michigan student? Are you older than 24? A parent? Have others besides children dependent on your care? Working full-time? Attending U-M part time? Completed high school with a GED or other high school completion certificate? A military veteran? If so, we have a Transfer Community Group just for you. The Non and Post traditional Student Community Group offers a space for you to connect with others who share your life experiences and identity.

Connect with other LSA Transfers on LSA Connect
LSA Connect is the Opportunity Hub's online portal where LSA students can connnect with alums, resources for career exploration, and each other. The Transfer Student Group on LSA Connect is a online community specifically for LSA transfer students where you can seek out help and support from your fellow transfer students and LSA alums who were transfer students.
Credits for Summer Term, Study Abroad, and More
There are a number of situations in which LSA students can earn credits at another university, whether they are transfer students or not. Many students take classes at other schools over the summer, or as part of study abroad programs. If you are a current student with questions about whether these types of credits will transfer, visit the Newnan Academic Advising Center transfer credit page and make an appointment to talk with your general academic advisor.
Transfer Student Programming
Find events that connect you to the university community. Group workshops, individual advising, and more are tailored to transfer students. All of these events will be listed on the TSC event calendar.
