Where did you transfer from? Henry Ford College
Why did you choose to transfer to the University of Michigan? I didn’t even know transferring was an option prior to meeting LSA Recruitment at Henry Ford College. The support I received from LSA Recruitment prior to even applying was a testament of the care, consideration, and resources they would give to me upon transferring. That, coupled with the endless opportunities in research and professional development provided by the University, made transferring here a no-brainer for me.
Based on your personal experience, what is the one thing you want to tell new transfer students? The biggest advantage this school has is its abundance of resources and opportunities - be open to all of them.
How did you make friends and meet other students on campus? All of my friends have been made through the Transfer Student Center and the transfer student community in general. I just spent all my time in the Transfer Student Center and naturally just made friends there.
What is your favorite part about being an LSA transfer student? The dedicated support and resources provided to transfer students.
What do you know now that you wished you knew before transferring to the University of Michigan? You are not any less qualified to be here than the four-year students.
Why did you choose your specific major(s)? I’ve always cared deeply about social issues and knew I wanted a career working toward social justice. Sociology with a focus in Law, Justice & Social Change was the perfect program for me to explore the many things I am passionate about.
