Admissions

Admission to the program is highly selective. As most of a student’s coursework in the program will be in doctoral-level courses, only those students will be admitted to the program whose undergraduate records and faculty letters strongly suggest that they would thrive in and contribute productively to doctoral-level courses in participating departments.

To qualify for admission to the Program in Transcultural Studies, undergraduate students must be currently enrolled in the College of LSA and have completed five semesters of coursework towards a bachelor’s degree. Per Rackham Academic Policy, students earning dual bachelor’s degrees (including those of LSA) are not eligible for the AMDP.

Transfer students and students with non-traditional timelines are welcome to apply.

Only U-M undergraduate students currently enrolled in the College of Literature Science and the Arts at the University of Michigan are eligible to apply. Applications from outside of U-M will not be accepted.
