About Us

The University of Michigan's Science, Technology & Society program promotes teaching and research in the social, historical, and cultural studies of science, technology, and medicine. Founded in 2000, the program administers a speaker series, a graduate certificate, and an undergraduate minor.

U-M's STS program highlights international and global STS issues, a distinctive focus that sets our program apart from its peers elsewhere. The program is supported by funding from the College of Literature, Science, and Arts, the History Department, and the School of Information.
