Vincent Hutchings, Professor of Political Science, shared his thoughts on the 2024 Presidential Election Season.
“The Republican Party is in a peculiar place,” Hutchings said. “There are really two issues: one is about their election strategy—their prospects for victory in November of 2024. The other is about where they stand with respect to democracy … 2024 is not going to be a normal presidential contest because the leading candidate (Trump) for the election has essentially renounced the concept of democracy.”
