The U.S. Supreme Court is adopting a code of conduct after months of allegations that some justices appear to have ethics violations. Deborah Beim, an assistant professor of political science at the University of Michigan, joined CBS News Detroit to discuss the effectiveness of the new ethics code.

“There have been a lot of really sort of splashy, newsworthy ethics concerns coming out of the Supreme Court,” said Deborah Beim, assistant professor of Political Science. “I’m not sure that this … (new) code of conduct is meant to prevent those things from happening. It’s meant to communicate to the public (that) we are, in fact, ethical.”
