Christian Davenport, Professor of Political Science and Faculty Associate at the Center for Political Studies at the University of Michigan, has introduced a new initiative; Conflict & Peace, Research & Development (CPRD).  This group is comprised of individuals and activities broadly concerned with political conflict (e.g., genocide, civil war, human rights violation, terrorism, protest, torture, domestic spying and everyday resistance) and peace (e.g., community building, inter-group relations and negotiation).  His co-director on this initiative, Yuri Zhokov, is working to complete his Ph.D. at Harvard University and will begin teaching at the University of Michigan as an Assistant Professor beginning in the Fall of 2014.
