In a coup to out-maneuver potential inclement weather, the Political Science faculty, staff and graduate students moved their annual fall meet and greet indoors to the Eldersveld Room in Haven Hall on September 16.  A local caterer provided an array of delicious appetizers and treats for every palate.  One would think that with this exemplary combination of scholars and students, the two hour event might have led to peace in the Middle East, the elimination of world hunger, or a solution for the national debt crisis.  However, according to a source, who requested anonymity, most of the discussions involved recounts of UM’s recent football victories!  There will be another opportunity for Political Science Department members to solve world problems at the December 9 Winter Gathering.   And, by the way, someone leaked the indoor strategy prior to the event because the weather that day was excellent!
