Connect with Alums

What burning questions do you have for the people whose careers you admire most?

How did photojournalist Kirsten Kortebein manage to get published in the New York Times while still an undergrad?

What was Jud Hoffman’s path from bond trader to Head of Community Operations at Pinterest?

Where did Asheesh Birla, a cryptocurrency and blockchain expert, gain the clarity that Silicon Valley was the right next step?

There are more than 200,000 LSA alums around the world navigating career successes and challenges, from solo entrepreneurs to the heads of international companies—and they’re eager to share their hard-earned wisdom with you.

At the LSA Opportunity Hub, we are committed to providing authentic ways for you to connect with alums so that dialogue and mentorship can unfold in meaningful ways.

How can you tap into the power of shared wisdom and experience?

Learn How to Connect with Integrity

  • Meet with Hub coaches one-on-one or in group workshops to learn how to make authentic connections. Coaches can provide important insight into the best ways to network and why engaging with alums can give you clarity and support in achieving your aspirations.

  • Take ALA 125: Positioning Yourself for a Successful Internship or ALA 325: Putting Your Education To Work; in these interactive one-credit courses, networking is part of your classwork. You’ll learn the best approaches and complete informational interviews.

  • Attend one of our Alum Connections drop-in prep sessions, where our mentorship manager and coaches work with you on the best methods for making those connections.

Meet and Talk with Alums In-Person or Virtually

  • RSVP for an Alum Connections. What sets these sessions apart is their size and format: a small group conversation between alums and students in an informal setting (dress code is come as you are).

  • Apply to participate in Industry Insiders. Learn about an industry firsthand from LSA alums who’ve become leaders in the field, through roundtable Q&A and conversation.

  • Stop by the annual Internship Forum, where alums come to connect and share advice with students.
