Professor Joe Masco examines the contemporary logics of crisis, theorizing a problem of political agency in the United States. Comparing the nuclear crisis and climate crisis, he considers the conservative nature of crisis-talk as a mode of political discourse, as well as the shifting terms of the social contract from the cold war to our present moment.
