Meghan joined the Germanic Languages and Literature department at the University of Michigan in 2022. She graduated from Indiana University with her B.A. in Germanic Studies and International Studies. Her undergraduate thesis was titled
“Political Writing in Post-War Austria: Bachmann, Bernhard, and Jelinek.” 

Meghan’s research interests include post-WWII Austrian theater and literature (in particular Elfriede Jelinek and Ingeborg Bachmann), the creation of national identity in Austria and Germany, and the cultural impact of neoliberalism and globalization. She is also interested in the intersections between artistic demonstrations and political movements and how artists create personas that create distance between them and their actions.
