A new video, produced by San Pedro River Videos, features turtle research at the Edwin S. George Reserve and gives a beautiful overview of the reserve.

Justin Congdon, a professor emeritus at the University of Georgia who studied the E.S. George turtles every nesting season from 1975 through 2007, narrates the video. Congdon came out of retirement to return to the reserve in 2016. Michigan News wrote a news release at that time:  Oldest well-documented Blanding's turtle recaptured at the U-M reserve at 83. EEB Professor Chris Dick reports seeing the same turtle this year and she was full of eggs again (at age 85).

The video captures the beauty of the University of Michigan field station in early June including the diversity of habitats and wildlife. The video touts the reserve as an ideal place to study turtles, frogs, birds and other wildlife. Congdon said that U-M and the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology “support research and do everything they can to make sure we have everything we need here to be successful and have great results.” EEB administers the E.S. George Reserve with Professor Robyn Burnham as director.
