PCAP welcomes Elaine Chen to its permanent staff team as Exhibition Assistant, a new part-time staff position. Elaine assisted with the Annual Exhibition of Art by Michigan Prisoners as a PCAP student member before joining the staff team in 2016 in a temporary position. As Exhibition Assistant, Elaine will serve as an organizing member of the Annual Exhibition curator group, carry out PCAP's annual fundraising auction, and coordinate other aspects of exhibit publicity and visitor experiences.
Elaine is a Master of Social Work candidate at the University of Michigan and an artist specializing in participatory art. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Economics, Arts and Ideas in Humanities, and Organizational Studies. She is a graduate fellow of the Center for World Performance Studies and Rackham Public Engagement Fellowship at the University of Michigan. Since 2014, Elaine has facilitated PCAP theatre and music workshops at youth and adult correctional facilities.
