“In a relatively short time,” Burton says, “Humanities Without Walls has become a recognized authority on trends in collaboration and interdisciplinary practice in 21st century humanities studies.”
Institute for the Humanities names 2018 summer faculty fellows and 2019-20 faculty and graduate student fellows
Fellowship recipients represent diverse disciplines within the humanities and span several colleges and schools across the university, this year including U-M Dearborn, public policy, music, art and design, and medicine.
The Institute for the Humanities acknowledges that the University of Michigan, named for Michigami, the world's largest freshwater system, sits on land stewarded by Niswi Ishkodewan Anishinaabeg--the Three Fires People, who are the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi--along with their neighbors the Seneca, Delaware, Shawnee, and Wyandot nations.
The Institute for the Humanities
Our mission is to deepen synergies between the humanities, the arts and other regions of the university, to carry forward the heritage of the humanities, and to bring the voices of the humanities to public life.
We strive to support our students and faculty on the front lines of learning and research; to steward our planet, our community, our campus. To do this, Institute of Humanities needs you—because the world needs Victors.
