August 28-30, 2018
What is Biophysics Preview?
We will invite approximately 3-6 highly qualified prospective graduate students for an all-expense-paid trip to experience the Biophysics Program at the University of Michigan.
Why Apply to Biophysics Preview?
During Biophysics Preview days, students will have the opportunity to:
- Interact one-on-one with faculty and current graduate students
- Tour our research facilities
- Receive tips on how to apply to graduate school
- Explore campus and the beautiful and culturally diverse city of Ann Arbor
Who Can Participate?
Highly qualified prospective graduate students are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to students from low-income homes, students who are first-generation college students or students whose backgrounds are underrepresented in Academia.
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or permanent residents or undocumented students with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). All applicants must intend to apply for admission to the Biophysics doctoral program for the 2019-20 academic year.
No Cost to Attend
Travel and housing expenses, including on-campus meals, are provided for students selected to attend the Preview.
What to Expect
Throughout the Preview days you will have the opportunity to network with important members of the Biophysics research community here at Michigan and get a first-hand look at what life is like as a graduate student and member of a thriving scientific laboratory.
Biophysics Preview participants will attend the annual Biophysics All-Team Retreat on the Wednesday of their visit (Aug. 29).
Applications are no longer being accepted for the Biophysics Fall 2018 Preview.
We strongly encourage you to contact us if you are concerned about the status of your application or completing it on time.
Applicants will be notified by July 31 if they have been selected to attend.
