Opportunities to Engage

We are grateful that our alumni and friends remain connected with our community and continue to support our faculty and students in their academic journeys. We offer a variety of different ways that people can get involved and impact our program here in Economics.

Share your story: Economics @ Work (ECON 208) helps students learn about a variety of career opportunities for economics majors. In each class, one alumna or alumnus discusses their education and career, highlighting how their experiences as a U-M economics student played an active role in shaping their post-graduation paths. Fill out this form if you are interested in speaking.

Mentor current students: Sign up for LSA Connect, a recently-launched mentorship platform available to all LSA students and alumni. If you previously connected with students through EARN (Economics, Alumni Relationship Network), you can continue this valued outreach through the LSA Connect program.

Connect with our Student Organizations: In Economics, we have four undergraduate and two graduate student organizations. Each offers a variety of activities and opportunities for students to connect with each other, with faculty and with our alumni. For information about these organizations, you can watch this short video that our student org leaders created for our Giving Blueday campaign this year.

Use the links below to learn more about each organization, navigate to their group personal website and find contact information. If you would prefer to connect through the department or have questions or ideas to help please email cedunn@umich.edu.

Make a Donation: Gifts from alumni and friends provide vital support for learning and research, program innovation, and new initiatives. To donate please click here

Learn about our Economics Leadership Council (ELC): We have a team of dedicated alumni that form our leadership council. ELC members serve by invitation of the Department Chair to provide advice, financial support, and outreach opportunities that advance the long-term goals of the Department. Please email cedunn@umich.edu if you'd like to be connected with a development officer to further discuss the ELC. You can read more about our council here.
