Join the YAC

Being involved with the YAC not only helps members connect with other LSA young alumni, but also maintains a meaningful connection between the alum and LSA. Participation extends the LSA community across the country and globally. Many YAC members become involved by mentoring current LSA students, volunteering locally, providing feedback through a College Connections interview, and supporting initiatives through Giving Blueday. When did the YAC begin?

The YAC was formed in 2011 with the idea that young alumni should be more engaged in the life of the college. Beginning in Southeast Michigan, the regions quickly expanded to include Chicago, New York City, and Washington, D.C.

The YAC now spans the country. It continues to engage peers from interdisciplinary backgrounds, fostering an extension of the U-M LSA community post-graduation.

What engagement opportunities are there for YAC members?

The council brings its mission to life by inspiring conversations about the liberal arts, engaging employers in internship opportunities for LSA students, and fundraising for the LSA Fund for Student Internships and the LSA Fund for Scholarships.
