Dr. Sydney Richardson has devoted over seventeen years to Higher Education. She has served at various institutions as Writing Center Director and English Instructor, Assistant Professor of Education, Dean of Adult Education, Dean of College and Career Readiness, and Department Chair of Leadership Studies and Adult Education. Dr. Richardson currently serves as Associate Professor of Leadership Studies at North Carolina A&T State University. Her research focuses on areas of diversity and access for women and minorities. Dr. Richardson received a BA in political science from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), an MA in English and African American Literature. from North Carolina A&T, and a PhD in Educational Leadership and Cultural Studies, with a specialization in Women and Gender studies from UNCG.
Current Work
Dr. Richardson's scholarship deals with access in terms of race, gender, and class within the higher educational system, as well as unconventional forms of leadership for women and minorities.
