The Herbarium Library is a branch of the Museums Library, which is part of the University of Michigan Library System. The focus of this collection is plant systematics, floristics, and monographic studies. Botanical books of a more general nature or concerned with disciplines other than systematics are housed in the Shapiro Science Library.
In order to charge materials from the Herbarium Library a borrowing card with machine readable barcode must be presented. Faculty, staff, and currently registered UM students may use their M-card. For further information see Circulation Services and Policies. Books and Journals that are available for circulation may be requested via Library-to-Library Delivery.

While Mirlyn and Mirlyn Classic search the same data, each is designed to search differently and offers different functionality. Mirlyn is best for discovering the relationship between subjects, concepts, and items; for filtering large results by format, language, library location, etc.; for viewing your complete library account, including interlibrary loan requests; and for placing Special Collections Library requests.
