Kudos to colleague Frances Kai-Hwa Wang, who has just won a 2019 Knight Arts Challenge Detroit award. The book will be published by Wayne State University Press and the digital arts archive will be housed at UM Library in perpetuity.

In addition, Frances was recently named a Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights Detroit Equity Action Lab Race and Justice Reporting Initiative Fellow. This fellowship is funded by Knight Foundation, Ford Foundation, and Community Foundation For Southeast Michigan, and Frances will report a story about Asian American artists working on social justice issues in Detroit.
