Alcohol Policy

All guests on UMBS property are required to comply with the UMBS Alcohol and Drug policy. The UMBS facility does not offer alcoholic beverage service and prohibits groups from selling alcohol to their participants or guests. Beer and wine are the only alcoholic beverages permitted at UMBS (liquor and spiked punches are not permitted). If you provide alcohol to your guests, you must follow UMBS policy and Michigan State Law. Group leaders are responsible for verifying the ages of guests consuming alcohol. UMBS also requires substantial food to be provided at all events where alcohol is present.

If your group is associated with the University of Michigan and are providing alcohol for guests, you must be trained in and observe the State of Michigan’s Techniques of Alcohol Management and receive permission from the LSA Director of Facilities and Operations (734-764-0323) to serve alcohol. Guidelines are available at the LSA Website
