Submitting Requests

Submit all requests and ongoing communication to: lsa.uged.events@umich.edu. This shared inbox is monitored by all members of our team. Please provide as much information as possible including your projected deadline or event date.

Services List And Project Lead Times - Updated September 2023

Note: Times may vary widely from this guide depending on the scope of each request (e.g. design from scratch vs. template-based, vendors, etc.). If you have an urgent request that needs a quicker turnaround from what we have listed as project lead times, please let us know. We still may be able to help and establish a mutually agreeable due date that is sooner.

Event Planning (public-facing events)

• Develop event structure, timeline, and budget with units
• Coordinate venues, room layout, catering, decorations, and other logistics
• Organize guest travel logistics (working with U-M travel agent)
• Create RSVP forms

Project Lead Time - Please contact us as soon as you have an idea for an upcoming event. This will help with forecasting the timeline for tasks and logistics. In addition, many venues on campus are booked at least one year in advance and that may narrow options.

Graphic Design

• Design brochures, programs, social media graphics, and other custom materials with unit-provided content. Coordinate professional printing if needed for these materials.
• Design email header/footer graphics and/or create templates for email marketing tools (MailChimp)

Project Lead Time - Submit requests a minimum of 2-3 weeks in advance of your requested completion date, especially if items will need professional printing. Additional rounds of editing and drafts will push project deadlines back, so we advise having details solidified as much as possible before initiating a project.

Note - We are happy to offer feedback or advice on unit-created designs, but we are unable to generate related materials from those designs or coordinate any necessary printing.

Swag

• Design and order unit-branded shirts, mugs, stickers, etc. for giveaways.

Project Lead Time - Most swag requires a production time of 2 weeks. To leave time for selecting an item and proofs please submit your request 3-4 weeks in advance of your delivery deadline to avoid rush fees.

AEM Website Editing

• Edit and post unit-provided content as needed.

Project Lead Time - For simple web editing, please allow 2-3 business days. More complex editing will take additional time.
