Course Offerings

Our courses are wide-ranging, challenging, and fun! Here are two examples from the Winter 2016 term:

German 326 - German in Song
Students in German 326 get practical experience using German by engaging with German music and vocals.

German In Song (GERM326) was featured in our newsletter.

German 396 - Germany and the Black Diaspora

What does it mean to be black and German? And why do many people think that is a contradiction?

In winter 2016, the German Department teamed up with the History Department and the Department of Afroamerican and African Studies to explore these questions. One of the highlights of the semester was the creation of a digital map of Black Germany, which featured historical figures, paintings, and events that explained an aspect of Black German history.
