Applying to Live/Work at UMBS
To apply for housing and register your research with us, click the "+" sign next to the section that describes you (either a new researcher or returning research to UMBS) and follow the directions. We cannot begin to assign your housing or research facilities until you have submitted all the information requested in our Research/Housing Application.
If you are part of a research team, the project lead must register the project first and give the exact project title to team members so they can register with the same project. Many projects are already registered with the Biological Station. Before you register, be prepared to provide details about your current research project.
Whether this will be your first time coming to the Station or you are a senior resident, please take time to read our Guide to Living and Working at the Biological Station. It should answer many of your questions about daily life as well as familiarize you with community standards.
Is this your first time to stay at the Biological Station as a researcher (i.e. graduate student, research assistant, PI, etc.)?
If so, we need you to create a new user account on our Research Gateway.
This allows you to save your personal information on the housing and research forms required of all UMBS researchers.
If you've done research at UMBS before, you just need to request a new password and update your research project description and submit a new housing application with this year's information (dates you'll be on-site, what equipment you are bringing or will need, the nature of your research, etc.).
This information is critical to ensure that your research goes as smoothly as possible and your accommodations fit your needs. We cannot begin to assign your housing or research facilities until you have submitted all the information requested in our Housing Application.
