Get An Override

In order to enroll in ALA 225 or 325, you will need to get an override. Both of these courses require that you have secured an internship prior to enrollment. Thus, the way that you will request an override for either course is to notify us of your internship so that we can ensure that your internship meets the requirements for enrollment in the courses. Prior to starting the process of requesting an override, make sure that your internship meets the requirements outlined in the course description.

Step 1: Log-in to the LSA Opportunity Network

Step 2: Under the Experiential Learning section, click on “ALA Course Enrollment”

Step 3: Click “Register an Internship”

Step 4: Complete and submit the registration form

  • Type: Select either “ALA 225” or “ALA 325,” whichever class you wish to enroll in

  • Section: Select the option that lists the type of class you wish to enroll in (ALA 225 or ALA 325) AND the term in which you wish to earn credit for your internship (NOTE: the term in which you wish to earn credit is not necessarily the term in which your internship takes places--for example, you may have an internship in the Spring/Summer term, but you may earn credit in the Fall. Read the instructions on the form carefully!)

Step 5: You will be redirected to the Experiential Learning homepage, where you will see that your internship is in Pending status. Your internship will be reviewed by LSA Internship Program staff/faculty, at which time you will receive directions for next steps. Please allow up to 2 weeks for this process to be completed.

NOTE: If your employer requires a letter verifying that you will receive credit, please email us!
