Today, the focus of our alum highlight is Dr. Jordan Dalton, who received her PhD in 2020. Her dissertation was titled "Excavations at Las Huacas (AD 1200-1650): Exploring Elite Strategies and Economic Exchange during the Inca Empire."

Dalton is currently a research scientist at the American Museum of Natural History. This past summer, she published an article in Sapiens titled "Fair and Balanced—Weighing Coca With a Wipi in Peru." This article discusses the significance of weighing scales used in the Andean community of San Pedro de Casta and across different cultures.
