The UMMAA Brown Bag Lecture Series is pleased to present a lecture by Dr. Henry Wright, Albert Clanton Spaulding Distinguished University Professor of Anthropology at the University of Michigan. His lecture, Before Clovis: Discovering Early North Americans, will be held on Friday, February 9, 12-1 p.m. in Room 1322 in the School of Education Building.

Wright will present a personal look at seven sites from first excavated to most recent. He will deal with the impact of each new discovery seeming to increase the evidential basis for earlier occupations and with the strident efforts of critics to deny each new claim. He will end the lecture with a new model, which accounts for most of the available evidence, and he will suggest some ways of testing the implications of this model.

The Museum's Brown Bag Lecture Series is free and open to the public.
