Year-round Awards

The Conference Travel Award is offered during both Fall and Winter terms in amounts up to $200 to offset costs of transportation, lodging and registration fees to attend and present at a conference taking place anytime from August – May. Students presenting at multiple conferences are allowed to apply more than once, but must fill out separate applications for each conference.

Eligibility: Current Psychology Department majors presenting their research at a major regional (e.g., Midwestern Psychological Association), national (e.g., APA, APS, SRCD), scientific, or professional conference. The presentation can consist of either a paper presented during a panel discussion, asymposium or a poster presentation. The student must be the primary presenter of the research, whether it is as a single or joint author

Deadline: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and may be submitted at any time. 

Winter 2017 Awards

Students who are interested in applying for the departmental awards should read each award description and qualifications. Winter 2017 award eligibility and deadlines are listed below; required application materials are listed on the application. Please note that several applications are due by 5pm March 3, 2017 - this is the week of Spring Break, so plan accordingly. International students are eligible for all Psychology Department awards for which they meet the other specified criteria.

Eligibility: Outstanding junior women in (or applying to) the Psychology Honors Program. Award criteria include overall academic achievement, breadth and depth of interests, and the extent to which the award might have a beneficial influence on the recipient

Deadline: March 10, 2017 

  

Eligibility: Current Psychology Department majors who are working on a particularly innovative, original, and meritorious research project. Students with dual majors or in the Individualized Major Program conducting research with significant emphasis upon psychological sciences are also eligible. 

Deadline: 5pm on Friday, March 3, 2017

Eligibility: Students majoring or with an academic interest in both Psychology and Biology; other considerations include financial need, academic potential, and past or present community or volunteer work

Eligibility: Psychology Department majors working on an outstanding research project whose subject is diversity or inclusivity, broadly defined (e.g., culture, race, gender, student-athletes, sexuality), in psychological science

Deadline: 5pm on Friday, April 7, 2017

All awards are processed through the University Financial Aid system and posted to the student account as a cash award.
