Annual Fund Giving

Annual fund contributions play a critical role in supporting selected activities and programs. The Department gratefully accepts contributions to three accounts.

Strategic Fund (308224). Contributions support short-term projects with a focus on undergraduate activities and publications such as the Philosopher's Imprint and the Meteorite. Those giving up to $250 might consider the Strategic Fund.

Sustaining Fund (362222). Contributions combine to underwrite long-term projects, for example, to establish special graduate student fellowships, to foster activities enriching graduate education, or to promote undergraduate curricular innovation. Those giving $250 or more might consider the Sustaining Fund.

Program in Philosophy, Politics & Economics Strategic Fund (321156). Contributions will be used at the discretion of the chair and director of PPE, with priority given to extra-curricular enhancements to the PPE undergraduate program.

Ilene Goldman Block Memorial Fund in Philosophy (323749). In honor of Ilene, this Fund aims to enhance undergraduate students’experiences (especially those who may be underrepresented in philosophy) by supporting conference attendance, research-related travel, hosting guest speakers, special events, etc.

Louis E. Loeb Fund for the History of Philosophy (798580). This fund honors Professor Louis Loeb, who has shared his expertise in the History of Philosophy as a teacher/scholar. Contributions are used to provide resources for undergraduates, graduates, and faculty, including awards for papers and support for graduate student research.

Allan Gibbard Fund (799483). This fund was established to honor retired faculty member Allan Gibbard. Gifts to the Allan Gibbard Fund will be for endowment and be used at the discretion of the Department of Philosophy.
