News stories are pulled onto the appropriate child page(s) in the news section (for example, faculty news, student news, awards, and so on) by utilizing tags.

Start by opening the page properties for the news story you wish to tag. This can be done either from the sites directory:

https://author.lsa.umich.edu/sites.html/content/michigan-lsa

...or from the news story page itself, by selecting "Open Page Properties" from the Page Information menu under the settings icon- the one that resembles an equalizer

Find your tag:

In the tags field: begin typing a tag name. In this example we are using "faculty". As the auto-fill returns tags that have the word "faculty" suggestions, select the appropriate tag

General Tags:

Universal-type tags, such as "faculty," or "graduate students" for example, are organized under a directory of generalized tags labeled "Michigan LSA Tags: Academic"

Stories tagged with the universal tag 'research,' plus one of the additional categories 'humanities,' 'natural sciences,' or 'social sciences,' will then appear on the LSA site.

  • Following the example above, open the page properties for your news story
  • In the tags field, begin typing "research," and as the auto-fill returns tags that have the word "research" suggestions, scroll through them and look for
"Michigan LSA Tags : Academic / Research"
  • Add additional tags: Humanities, Natural Sciences, and/or Social Sciences
