Carey Salerno is the executive director and executive editor of Alice James Books, an independent publishing house dedicated to poetry, where she’s worked with such writers as Franny Choi, Kaveh Akbar, Shira Erlichman, and Phillip B. Williams.

Salerno holds a BA from Western Michigan University and an MFA from New England College. She is the author of Tributary (2021), Shelter (2009), and co-editor of Lit From Inside: 40 Years of Poetry from Alice James Books (2013).

She teaches courses in poetry and publishing for the University of Maine at Farmington and resides in New Jersey.
