DAAS Africa Workshop Developing Youth through the Arts: An Egyptian Project

This talk examines state and NGO arts programs directed at poor and working class youth in Egypt. It explores how these programs aim to cultivate “proper" citizenship and religious subjectivity through particular notions of the arts and creativity, with sometimes surprising results.
