FAST Lecture - Statuary, Stratigraphy, and Secondary State Formation: Iron Age Conundrums from Iron Age Tell Tayinat, Turkey

This lecture will present the most recent results from the Iron Age strata of Tell Tayinat.  Tell Tayinat is located in the 'Amuq Plain of Turkey and the capital center of the Iron II/III  kingdom Patina/Unqi.  Recent work at Tayinat has uncovered a 7th-century temple including an archive, monumental statuary, and evidence for a local administrative complex.

FAST lectures are organized by students in the Interdepartmental Program in Classical Art and Archaeology
