3rd Annual Alumni Reception

Join us for the 3rd Annual Alumni - Graduate Student networking event run in association with the Karle Symposium. In recent years, alumni of our Chemistry programs have come back to share advice with graduate students and postdocs about to embark on their own careers. Alumni have enjoyed meeting new students and reconnecting with their old lab mates.

Schedule for the Day

Let us know which activities you would like to participate in:

Speed Interviewing

Reception with faculty, students, and alums

Dinner with your old lab or new friends

The event is hosted by the Department of Chemistry graduate student professional development organizations:

  • CALC|UM -- Chemistry Aligned with Life and Career at UM
After you RSVP for the Alumni event, register for the Karle Symposium on August 4. The event features graduate student research with talks and poster presentations. Breakfast and lunch provided for registered participants. Alumni very welcome! A link is provided in the RSVP form.

"Highly Reactive" slideshow from LSA

Since the 1800s, the University of Michigan has been a hub of chemistry research and innovations. This slideshow highlights the researchers, classrooms, and labs that have shaped chemistry research at UM over the years. See the first building in North America constructed solely for chemistry research, meet the men behind the Gomberg-Bachman reaction, and take a peek inside a chemistry classroom today.
