Ladette Randolph is editor-in-chief of Ploughshares literary journal, the author of five books, the most recent a novel, Private Way, forthcoming in March of 2022, and is co-owner of the manuscript consulting firm Randolph Lundine (www.randolphlundine.com). Before joining the staff at Ploughshares, she was associate director and humanities acquisition editor at University of Nebraska Press. While completing her PhD at University of Nebraska, she served as Managing Editor and Senior Fiction Reader for Prairie Schooner.

While at University of Nebraska Press, she acquired widely in the humanities, including award-winning translations, Cather Studies, Western Literary Studies. She founded and acquired manuscripts for the Flyover Fiction series and the American Lives series. While at Ploughshares, she started and edits the Solos series--dedicated to publishing long essays, stories and novellas. Together with the journal’s poetry editor, John Skoyes, she edits each Winter issue. She invites a prominent writer to guest edit each Spring and Summer issue of the journal.
