Ruben Quesada (MFA, PhD) has served in numerous leadership roles for literary and community organizations and as an editor for literary magazines both in print and online introducing global audiences to poetry and literature. Over the past decade, Ruben has been an editor with Cobalt Review, The Rumpus, Chicago Review of Books, PANK, AGNI, and The Kenyon Review. Editorial projects have included weekly and monthly literary columns featuring poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and visual art.

Ruben is the author of collections of poetry and translations including, Revelations, Exiled from the Throne of Night: Selected Translations of Luis Cernuda, and Next Extinct Mammal. His writing has appeared in Best American Poetry, Guernica, Harvard Review, TriQuarterly, American Poetry Review, and other journals.

Ruben has taught for Vermont College of Fine Arts, UCLA Writers’ Program, Northwestern University, The School of the Art Institute, Columbia College Chicago, Texas Tech University, and University of California at Riverside.

Currently, Ruben is the Founding Director of the digital monthly Mercy Street Reading Series, an editorial advisor for JackLeg Press, a member of the PEN America literary awards committee, a translator for Illinois Humanities, and a board member of the National Book Critics Circle.
