Departmental advising allows students the opportunity to formulate goals for their education while ensuring they understand the objectives and requirements of their major or minor. While a general LSA advisor manages college wide requirements (for example, Race & Ethnicity or Quantitative Reasoning requirements), a Women’s Studies advisor can provide information about:
- The department’s majors or minors (learn more about our Information Sessions)
- Courses that will meet departmental requirements
- Senior releases and preparing for graduation
- Study abroad and transfer credits
If you have questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
How to Declare
Students interested in learning more about one of the department's majors or minors should attend an information session. These sessions are held throughout the academic year in Lane Hall, and provide students with the opportunity to discuss undergraduate programs with Women's Studies faculty and staff. Students can also declare a major or minor at these sessions.
The first information session for fall 2018 will be held on Friday, Sept. 14, 1:00-1:45pm in 2239 Lane Hall. You can sign up for the session here-- on "advisor name" click on Info Session.
Undergraduate Coordinator Donna Ainsworth holds walk-in advising hours on Tuesdays, 1:30-4:30pm in the Women's Studies main office 1122 Lane Hall, 204 S. State when classes are in session.
Schedule an advising appointment
If you are a current major or minor, or if you have already attended an Information Session, you may schedule an advising appointment here.
