Dr. Lisa Young earned her PhD in anthropology at the University of Arizona and is currently a Lecturer, Research Scientist and the Undergraduate Honors Advisor for the Department of Anthropology at Michigan. Her research focuses on the economical and social organization of small-scale pueblo and pit-house communities in the American southwest. Specifically, she studies the wild resources and mobility strategies used by these agricultural groups, and was actively involved in two excavation sites in Arizona until the project was completed a few years ago. Her fieldwork project, the Homol’ovi Undergraduate Research Opportunities Project (HUROP), involved students in research and volunteer opportunities in the field.
