Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Program

Welcome to WISE

U-M WISE programming encourages and supports all students from pre-college (grades 6-12) through undergraduates and graduate students. Programs are designed for women and girls but open to students of any gender identity. Post doctoral students are welcome to participate in any program they find beneficial. WISE also has volunteer, leadership, and employment opportunities for U-M undergraduate and graduate students in the sciences and engineering.

The WISE Mission

The University of Michigan Women in Science and Engineering Program is designed to increase the number of girls and women pursuing degrees and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics while fostering their future success.

The University of Michigan is at the forefront of equality in science and engineering. Their focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion covers not just women, but specifically minoritized women- women of color, LGBT women, and women who are first generation in higher education, to name a few. We do not limit our programming byidentity and wish to foster the success of students anywhere on the gender spectrum.
