Isis Settles is the Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Professor of Psychology, of Afroamerican and African Studies, and of Women’s and Gender Studies, at LSA. She has now been named University Diversity and Social Transformation Professor. The University Diversity and Social Transformation Professorships were launched in 2019 and recognize senior faculty whose work have promoted the university’s goals addressing diversity, equity and inclusion. Along with the professorship status, Settles and the University Diversity and Social Transformation Professors receive special faculty fellow status at the National Center for Institutional Diversity as well as spending at least one semester as a faculty fellow-in-residence.
