Prolific WGS Professor, Abigail Dumes, has a guest essay in the New York Times about Long Covid symptoms and what they can tell us about the current limits of medicine. 

She explores the implications of medicine’s emphasis on mortality over morbidity. Noting that it "has consequences for how suffering is measured as well as the efforts undertaken to prevent disease transmission and the thresholds used for determining when the pandemic is "over" .
