Ukrainian women's handiwork

Through utilizing a combination of posters and small artifacts, the exhibit Ukrainian Women’s Handiwork provides a glimpse in into Ukrainian culture including; Trypillian, Scythian and Kyivian Rus' civilizations. The display in the glass cases includes items such as pysanky with berehynia motifs, a ceramic of the goddess (Berehynia), coral jewlery and embroideries.  The theme is drawn from the belief that the Ukrainian spirit endures through women's embroidery and symbolic pysanky.

The exhibit is curated by Chrystyna Nykorak and Dzvinka Nykorak Hayda from the Ukrainian American Archives & Museum of Detroit, and sponsored by the Ukrainian National Women's League of America Chapter 50.

The exhibit runs through December 13 in the Lane Hall exhibit space glass cases.  They are open for public viewing, Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.  Lane Hall is located at 204 S. State St. Ann Arbor
