The joint Psychology and Women's Studies PhD program is for students specializing in both the Gender & Feminist Psychology and the Personality & Social Contexts program areas. - Fourth-term Review in WGS
- Begin working on WGS 891 after finishing Psych 619 (summer)

- Advance to candidacy no later than end of fall term third year
Third Year
- Enroll in WGS 891, complete 891
- Finish coursework if necessary
- Begin working on dissertation prospectus
- Psych or WGS 990 or 995
- Teach two terms (typically in WGS)
Fourth Year
- Psych or WGS 995 (8 credits)
- Dissertation Research
- Teach one terms (either Psych or WGS; students should have taught in Psych at least two terms and WGS at least two terms for a total of five terms)
Fifth Year
- Psych or WGS 995 (8 credits)
- Attend Rackham Pre-Defense Meeting
- Defend dissertation
- Attend Rackham Post-Defense Meeting and file completed dissertation
