What made you choose UROP?

The opportunity to connect with a professor who could introduce me to the world of academic research.

What do you think you have learned from your UROP experience?

I learned a lot of things during my UROP experience, but one of the most important things was being able to hone my professional writing skills.

What is the extent to which you have kept in contact with your Research Mentor?

We email each other every now and then, but I don't talk to Dr. Kruger very regularly anymore.

How did your UROP experience shape or inform the next steps you took in your academic and professional journey?

UROP guided me towards a career in research.

Where are you in your professional journey?

I am a Research Associate at EAB Global. Although I just started, I will eventually be advising colleges and universities across the country about which graduate programs to grow, which new ones to introduce, etc.

What advice would you give to a current UROP student?

Try to make the most of your relationships with your mentor and fellow research assistants!

What are some recent publications or accomplishments that you are proud of?

A paper I worked on in undergrad was named the runner-up to Human Ethology's Best Paper of the Year (2020).

Is there any other advice you would like to impart to current or future UROP students?

Doing research was one of my favorite parts of being in college - enjoy every minute of it!
