Lucy came to Michigan from Garden Grove, California, to begin graduate work in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.  Her dissertation research focuses on the ecological factors driving speciation in African and Asian colobine monkeys.  She also is interested in using coalescent-based approaches to infer the phylogeny and phylogeographic history of colobines.  Lucy joined the Mammal Division as the graduate curatorial assistant in the Winter of 2014 to learn more about managing a research collection.  Lucy is advised by Dr. Lacey Knowles.

"I have enjoyed working with the broad range of mammals in the collection in terms of taxonomic and geographic diversity.  I also enjoy working with the undergraduate students!"
