Open Presidents' Day:

Open Monday, February 20, 2023. Plan your visit.

Through February 2023

For more than two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has altered our lives. Why take a closer look at its early days? Because how our country responded at the beginning of the crisis reveals important truths about social and health inequities in the U.S. and here in Washtenaw County. The pandemic hit some communities much harder than others within our society.

This exhibit looks at the disparate impacts of the pandemic on different communities, the data documenting these inequities, and portraits and personal stories of people reflecting on the early days. There are no simple answers, but we invite you to stand in someone else’s shoes and contemplate what changes we can make as a society to prevent such health inequities from happening again.
