The Museum of Natural History offers science communication training and presentation opportunities for undergraduates involved in research. Ask us how we can serve your class or program. Contact Jade Marks at email@example.com.
Please contact our office at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve time in the galleries for U-M students. We require two weeks advance notice.
There is no charge for U-M classes, but reservations are required. The museum will be open for student entry only during your reserved time(s), and students arriving at other times will not be admitted.
What to expect
Faculty-led tours and in-person instruction are not allowed at this time.
Faculty may access the museum galleries to create gallery assignments.
UMMNH education staff can work with faculty to record narrated tours that students can listen to during their visit.
To reserve student visit time, we will need:
Number of students in your class
Gallery(ies) students will visit
Anticipated duration of each student visit to each gallery
A class list, including the uniqname for each student so they can be checked in when they arrive.
Students will be required to show a current ResponsiBLUE green check to enter the museum.
We strongly recommend that you divide students into small groups, with staggered entry times. When you register for your visit, you will be given the number of students allowed in the gallery(ies) at a given time, so that you can plan accordingly.
Students will be admitted individually and will be expected to social distance from each other in the galleries.
Evening hours may be arranged at no charge for U-M classes.
Due to COVID-19, we are not scheduling visits from non-U-M class groups. Members of the U-M campus community may request access for research and instructional needs. Please contact our office at email@example.com with your request.
