New Puma-ment Home

UMMNH pumas take their places in front of the new museum.

After greeting visitors to the Ruthven Building for more than 70 years, the much-loved pumas crossed the plaza to take their places on basalt plinths where they now stand guard in front of the new museum doors. In addition to museum staff, BSB project personnel, and passersby, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of puma sculptor Carleton Angell witnessed the historic move. In their new home, the pumas face each other instead of sitting in parallel as they previously were situated.

UMich Social Media produced this entertaining video documenting the move!
