A Whale of a Time!

Dorudon has left the building!

Basilosaurus and Dorudon were the first specimens to move into the new home of the U-M Museum of Natural History last month.  The "skeleton crew" from Research Casting International — specialists in fossil and cast installation and relocation — lowered both whales from their previous home in the Hall of Evolution, moved them across the plaza, then hung them in the atrium of the new Biological Sciences Building where they await the museum opening next spring.
