The U-M Museum of Natural History is inviting community members to be a part of bringing the first new dinosaur to the museum in over a decade through its Buy a Bone fundraising campaign.

When the museum opens in April 2019, a new Majungasaurus dinosaur exhibit will make its debut in the museum’s Evolution: Life Through Time gallery.  The public can help support this project by “buying a bone.”  All donors will receive an official Buy a Bone certificate and an invitation to an exhibit preview reception to see Majungasaurus before the new museum opens to the public, along with other benefits.

"The last time we had a Buy a Bone campaign was in 2014 for the Sanajeh exhibit. Buy a Bone campaigns are very popular— and make a great holiday gift," said Nora Webber, the museum's assistant director for development. "Donations to the Majungasaurus Buy a Bone campaign will not only help us bring a new dinosaur to Ann Arbor, but will also help nurture the next generation of scientists and continue the museum's long tradition of having the largest display of prehistoric life in Michigan."
